Ultra-Rich Chocolate Cake

It’s a simple chocolate cake with a complex chocolate flavor brought out by the bittersweet chocolate. Frost it with the Super-Easy, Super-Rich Chocolate Frosting for an ultra satisfying chocolate dessert.
Ingredients:
- 4 oz. bittersweet chocolate, broken into pieces
- 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter or margarine
- 1-1/3 cups boiling water
- 2-1/3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1-1/2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup dairy sour cream
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
Heat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour two 9-inch round baking pans.
Combine chocolate, butter and water in large bowl; stir with spoon until chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth. Gradually add flour, sugar, sour cream, eggs, baking soda, salt and vanilla; beat on low speed of electric mixer until smooth. Pour batter into prepared pans.
Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely in pans on wire rack. Frost with Easy Rich Chocolate Frosting.
Makes 12 to 15 servings.
